Moms Creating Healthy Futures
Hi, my name is Sheri Wilcox. I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to work alongside the incredible women at “Moms Creating Healthy Futures” over the past ten years! I admire their commitment to their families and to making the world a better place, and they inspire me to be the best version of myself every day!
My husband and I have been married for 24 years, and we are blessed to have three wonderful children. Our eldest is graduating from Rollins College this year, and our twins are in high school. Balancing being a mom while working is not an easy task, and although some women make it look easy, if you speak candidly with any mom who either stays at home full time, works part time outside the home, or works full time outside the home, each scenario brings its set of pros, cons, challenges, and leaves us all wondering if we are making the right decision for our children and for our family. One of the greatest rewards I have had working with Moms Creating Healthy Futures has been to be able to be home with my children, to be the Room Parent, volunteer often, never miss a field trip or school show, take them to dance class, karate, piano, and the list goes on and on….yet work from home and create a schedule that worked around my family’s busy schedule. I love that I have been able to use my prior education, work experience, and my skill set and passions to help other families in many different ways, and at the same time it has been an incredible way for me to contribute to our family’s household income in a very significant way for the past decade.
Prior to starting my family, I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from Adelphi University, and my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Fordham University. I lived in New York City for many years working in the theatre, and also loved working as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer while pursuing a career in the performing arts. Just prior to starting my family, I started teaching in an elementary school in Manhattan, and completed my Master’s degree in education. I have always had a passion for the arts, wellness, fitness, and working with children, and once I became a mom, I started to educate myself on the link between our health and the everyday products we used in our home. It was eye opening to me, and the more I learned, and the more I could see the difference using safer products was making in our family’s health and over all wellness, the more I became passionate about educating other moms and dads about making the switch to safer alternatives. It has been an honor and privilege to work with this company and with these amazing ladies, and iI look forward to continuing on this mission together of enhancing lives. It’s humbling to know we have played a small part in helping many families transition to making healthier choices, and to see the ripple effect that has makes my heart very happy! I am also motivated and inspired by the thought that we are just getting started and that we have a lot more work to accomplish together and lives to enhance on this beautiful journey of wellness! As Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
